If this isn’t a hot topic i don’t know what is because it seems like everyone is speaking on it and stating their thoughts and opinions, well Julie Delpy said she woulnt be the odd ball out and expressed her feelings on the very heated conversation.
“Two years ago, I said something about the Academy being very white male, which is the reality, and I was slashed to pieces by the media. It’s funny — women can’t talk,” the Oscar nominee told The Wrap. “I sometimes wish I were African American because people don’t bash them afterward.”
said Julie Delpy to The Wrap.
Adding,
“It’s the hardest to be a woman…Feminists [are] something people hate above all. Nothing worse than being a woman in this business. I really believe that.”
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences spoke up after receiving so much backlash and according to Abc News the organization’s board voted unanimously to hopefully double the number of women and diverse members by 2020 by taking steps in order to make its governing policies, membership and voting members “significantly more diverse”.
