The trademarked phrase “Friends Hang Sometimes Banners Hang Forever” is an adaption of his own quote he made towards the end of last season. The original quote was “Friends come and go, but banners hang forever.” Fans and the media seemed to love the way he said it and he was smart enough to go ahead and put a trademark on it. You can expect some apparel to be released in the near future with the quote on it so he can turn that into big bucks.
The move possibly gives us a sign into the future of what Kobe will be doing with himself. He is a highly intelligent guy who has been smart with his fortune and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him become even more of a business man after his playing days are behind him.
