Just like many other women who are dealing with their significant other/father of their children getting locked up, Yandy Smith is about to go through the same thing.

After getting married and having two children with Mendeecees Harris, he was recently sentenced to 8 years in federal prison for drug trafficking. Luckily for the Love & Hip-Hop: New York star, she is in good spirits.

Yandy stated during a recent interview with VH1:

“See you never want to internalize living alone since you got into a commitment with your best friend, the person you want to wake up to every day of your life for the next sixty years if you’re so blessed to do so. So when I was told that I might possibly have to spend one night without my husband—heartbroken is not even the word for it.”

She then went on to add:

“This will be different from the last time Mendeecees went away. This time I can prepare myself. I can prepare my life. We already started to prepare. I think knowing is half the battle for me. The unexpected is what I really couldn’t deal with and where I had a hard time.”

Hopefully both Yandy and their children can find the strength to fully deal with something so tragic.
