NFL receiver and former West Virginia Mountaineer, Stedman Bailey was shot twice in the head and is currently in the hospitaln in Miami.
News has just been shared that St. Louis receiver, Stedman Bailey was shot late Tuesday evening.
The shooting happened while Bailey, a cousin, and two others were sitting in his car. NFL.com reports that the four were sitting in the car when someone pulled up in their own car and started shooting.
Bailey took two bullets to the head; his cousin was also hit several times and is in very critical condition.
Bailey is reported to be stable and communicating with police on the incident. Doctors and medical teams will operate on Bailey on Wednesday.
The Rams have released an official statement.
“We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident this evening. We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more.”
As the NFL says, #FootballIsFamily and as a Mountaineer, I know that Bailey will be kept in many prayers tonight.
