Yes, you read it right, Republican Presidential contender Dr. Ben Carson compared abortion to slavery Sunday, standing by his belief by calling the procedure, even in cases to save the mother’s life, “perverted” and that he would “love” to see Roe v. Wade – A historic Supreme Court decision overturning a Texas interpretation of abortion law and making abortion legal in the United States – overturned and relinquished. Ben Carson goes on to say, “In the ideal situation, the mother should not believe that the baby is her enemy and should not…” read more on the article to hear more of his position.
Presidential candidate and former neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson has been igniting up much heat and controversial with some his right-winged statements, but in his attempt to appeal to the Republican vote to become the Republican candidate, these racy statements have done nothing but benefit him in the eyes of the Republican party, so of course what does he do then? Well make some more risky comments in hopes of beating out his top competitor Donald Trump. Dr. Carson said he would “love” to see Roe vs. Wade overturned, making abortion illegal nationwide, with almost no exemptions. He elaborates his views on the topic saying:
In the ideal situation, the mother should not believe that the baby is her enemy and should not be looking to terminate the baby. You know, things are set up in such a way that the person in the world who has the greatest interest in protecting the baby is the mother, we’ve allowed the purveyors of the vision to make mothers think that that baby is their enemy and that they have a right to kill it. Can you see how perverted that line of thinking is, ultimately, I would love to see [Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 Supreme Court ruling that legalized many abortions in the U.S.] overturned.
Like I stated early, if he sees that saying these comments help win the republican vote then why would he stop? Dr.Carson has been surging in many national polls as well, now he is no stranger to controversy, continuing to do so throughout his campaign. At many different times, Dr. Carson has said people who “go into prison straight” exit gay, compared Obamacare with slavery and claimed that the Holocaust may have been avoided if Jewish people in Europe at that time had more guns — an unexpected remark he again defended Sunday. Whether you stand by his opinions or not, he continues to surge through the polls so clearly some people in America do and everyone has a right to an opinion or view, at the end of the day it’s up to you to vote on who you want in the 2016 presidential elections.
