Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were set to visit Aliso Niguel High School in Aliso Viejo. But, O.C. parents protested. Parents said Macklemore’s music promotes drugs, misogyny, and alcohol. They put the principal in the middle, and students fought back. Hit the jump to find out who won.

Principal Deni Christensen initially canceled Macklemore and Lewis’ visit upon parents’ complaints. However, students opened a petition on Change.org and started the hashtag #bringbackmack. The kids got almost 9,000 signatures in their favor.

So, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are now set to visit- after school. They will host a Q&A, probably perform, and give a crash course in the music industry. They will also donate a $10,000 cash prize to the school’s music program, which definitely helps.

Macklemore is actually from Seattle. So, this is not his old high school. Students won this visit from Chegg.com. The visit is set to occur in December.
