Hope Solo, superstar goalie for the U.S. Women’s Soccer team will face charges in court following the reversal of the court’s initial ruling.
Solo was charged with two counts of domestic violence following an incident where cops were called to her half-sister, Teresa Obert’s home.
Allegedly, Solo attacked Obert’s 17-year old son and proceeded to attack Teresa when she tried to stop her.
The story broke and instantly became a scandal. But the real scandal came when the judge dismissed the charges on procedural grounds. Prosecutors immediately appealed.
Outside the Lines did an exclusive interview where Teresa explains that her sister was under the influence when the attack happened.
“She grabbed him by the head and she kept slamming him into the cement over and over again. So I came from behind her, and I pulled her over and, you know, to get her off my son. And then, once she got off, she started punching me in the face over and over again,”
she recounted.
Solo does not believe that she did anything wrong and has already begun using the initial ruling as a tool to help clean up her image.
The soccer star has also commented saying that she hates the way the media covered the story and how the situation makes her look.
“From here on out, no matter what happens, I’ll forever be associated with domestic violence.”
