One of the best dunks in basketball history happened today, fifteen years ago during the Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia in 2000. Vince Carter was already a star but his profile rose even higher from this one play, while simultaneously destroying the career of New York Knicks draft pick, Frederic Weis.

Weis was drafted by the Knicks but had yet to come over to the states. After this dunk happened, he never did quite make it across the ocean and play in the NBA. The world marveled at what Carter did as he literally jumped over a 7’2 guy trying to play defense and threw it down with authority!
That version of the “Dream Team” went on to win the Gold medal.
