After escaping from an upstate New York prison, Richard Matt and David Sweat have been on the run for over two weeks now. Recently, it is said that one of the prisoners has been shot by police!

After being shot by police, escaped prisoner, Richard Matt has been killed. As of now, there is no update on Matt’s partner, David Sweat. Sweat is said to still be on the run from police and is currently in hiding. The standoff between authorities and Sweat will probably go on for some time until he either surrenders or is eventually found and killed by police.

Reports are indicating that police have located the two escaped felons in upstate New York. Earlier this week, officials were confident that they were closing in on the two fugitives after DNA samples were collected from them in a log cabin that was broken into.
Today, it is not very clear exactly how police have gotten closer to the two but it is said that one of the two, Richard Matt, has been shot by police. At this point it is not clear whether or not Matt is dead or alive; however, David Sweat has not been hit police and is currently on the run.
The two were said to be en route to Canada so officials began narrowing their search in that direction. Also, reports are saying that the men were armed when one of them was shot.
