While some are still recouping from the death of Chinx, New York City is mourning for the loss of another well-known figure throughout the boroughs. Robert Diaz aka Pumpkinhead passed away at 5:40 A.M. this morning. According to producer Marco Polo, Robert Alan Diaz aka Pumpkinhead passed away early this morning (June 9). PH was a well-known battle rapper from Brooklyn, who broke onto the scene back in 1997. The former protégé of Bobbito Garcia released his successful street banger “Dynamic.” He became a legend of the underground hip-hop scene with projects like Orange Moon Over Brooklyn, which dropped in 2005, and his last project Know The Ledge
Along with producers like Marco Polo, he rapped with Jean Grae as part of O.B.S. (Original Blunted Soldiers), was an important member of Brooklyn Academy, and worked with Murs, Del the Funky Homosapien, Royce Da 5’9, Talib Kweli, and Immortal Technique. The details regarding his cause of death are unknown as of now. As soon as we find out more, we will update you.
