Friday night a woman in Maryland was found in the park pushing her dead three-year old son in a swing. Authorities claim the woman could have been in the park for hours or up to the day before.
Authorities are doing everything they can to track the woman’s movements over the past several days. They are looking for clues “to find out what was going on in her life, what led to this moment.”
Police were called to a park in La Plata, Maryland around 7AM to preform a welfare check on a woman and a child. When police went to remove the boy from the swing “it was instantaneously clear the child was dead.” There were no obvious signs of bodily trauma. Police cut the chain from the swing seat, removed the boy’s body which was then taken to the Baltimore Medical Examiner’s office. So far no details have been released to the Medical Examiner’s office.
Police do not believe there was foul play but it has not been ruled out. The identity of the woman has not been released however she did answer a few questions for police before she was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation.
She was able to provide several addresses in Maryland that may be relatives homes, that she has stayed at recently.
Police spokesperson Diane Richardson stated, “It’s a very sad and tragic situation for the mother, her family, the officers,” she added “All of us want answers. We’re working very hard on that.”
