California authorities are searching for a sexual predator who attacked a middle school girl in her home after she walked home from school. The attack was captured on a home surveillance camera.
The video shows the young girl approaching her home on her walk home from school. Only a few seconds later you can see the man approach the girl on her porch. The man forced his way into the home despite attempts made by the girl to slam the door in his face.
She said, “That’s when I decided to run inside the house because [I’d] already unlocked it,” she continued, “I tried to slam the door on him but I couldn’t.”
She fought him off and looked for a sharp or heavy object to throw at her attacker, but he slowly backed away and left the premises with no urgency.
The girl who has not be identified at the request of her family, hid in a closet and sent a text message to her parents for help. Her father called 911.
Authorities said that the man in the video is also wanted in another sexual assault from April. He is accused of following a 28-year old woman into a bathroom at the grocery store and attempting to sexually assault her.
Neither one of the victims were hurt but the 13 year-old stated, “I’m really happy I’m safe,” the teenager said, “but I’m still really scared. I’m really low on trusting the outside world anymore.”
