Shanesha Taylor has dug herself in a hole and now, there is no way out. After leaving her two boys in a one hundred degree temperature vehicle, making sure she got to a job interview, Taylor was arrested and charged with child abuse. After the community raised more than $100,000 to help, she was given the opportunity to turn a terrible situation into a great one, but that didn’t happen. Because of her actions and lack-thereof, the mother of two has now plead guilty to child abuse, which has resulted in a 10-year probation sentence.

$60,000 of the money raised was suppose to go into a trust for her children to access in the future, which she was given a deadline to do it. Instead, Taylor spent a nice amount on an unreleased rap album for her child’s father and name brand clothes. After the people who donated the funds began to question her usage of the money, Arizona’s Maricopa County called her back to stand in front of a judge.

To avoid jail time, Taylor plead guilty to felony child abuse. A plea that forced the system to give her 10 years of probation, attend parenting classes and pay $100,000 in restitution, all while her children remain in her custody.

According to NBC:

As part of the plea, defense attorney Valeria Llewellyn said her client, by leaving the children in the car, put them in a situation where they could have been hurt. Court Commissioner Jeffrey Rueter asked Taylor whether her attorney’s statement was correct. “Yes,” Taylor answered.

Hey, she was given her chances.
