NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers at Minnesota Timberwolves

When in doubt, blame the media.

Earlier today I posted a story confirming that LeBron James’ cryptic tweet about fitting in was indeed about teammate Kevin Love.  Well today James took to his Twitter account basically saying the media made up the story and if he wanted to say something to a teammate, he would say it to their face.

I’m not bias, I’ll admit that the media does sometimes take comments out of context in order to make major headlines aka “click bait”, but I don’t think that’s the case here.

I can’t confirm what James said besides “It’s not a coincidence, man”, but both Akron Beach Journal writer Jason Lloyd and ESPN’s Dave McMenamin both drew the same conclusion that the tweet was indeed about Kevin Love after their semi-private conversation with LeBron.

Also Lloyd went up to LeBron afterwards and asked “When we’re standing around BSing like that, do you consider it on the record or off the record?” James responded: “Ain’t nothing off the record. I know everything that comes out of my mouth. If I say it, it’s on the record.” Then he pointed at McMenamin and walked out of the locker room.

Sidenote: If someone doesn’t want their comments used they can say it’s “off the record” and the media isn’t supposed to publish it.

It seems to me that LeBron is having a bit of statement remorse but you can draw your own conclusion.
