Scary to say but it’s starting to seem like bodies disappearing–virtually overnight a lot of the time–is a thing now. Unfortunately it’s reported that 8 Sailors Have Gone Missing Off the Coast of Scotland since yesterday afternoon. An investigation was paused due to evening darkness and is set to resume today.
Late Saturday evening came reports from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution that 8 Sailors Have Gone Missing Off the Coast of Scotland after ‘Cemfjord,’ a large cargo vessel overturned in the waters. Photographs have so far shown the vessel in vertical position with one end sticking above the surface (yikes).
Though the rescue effort and investigation was suspended due to lack of light, lifeboat crews had been searching for survivors and rescue tugboats did stay on the scene overnight to warn other ships. The Shetland Coast Guard has been in charge of coordinating and is supervising two search and rescue helicopters in dispatch.
Reports also say that earlier in the day, 25 crew members of the ‘Hoegh Osaka’ ship off the coast of England were airlifted to safety, after their vessel ran into ground below Southampton.
The 8 Sailors Have Gone Missing Off the Coast of Scotland are still unaccounted for, parts of their ship have been found as far as 11 miles east of their last noted location.
