I’m not the biggest Wale fan – I personally don’t care for his music and I haven’t had the most positive personal encounters with him – but there’s no denying that he does some cool, creative sh*t. His music may not be for me, but I totally respect his marketing and concepts because they’re definitely a refreshing approach outside of the norm.
Fresh on the heels of dropping his Festivus mixtape last week, Wale hosted an intimate art show in NYC last week, The Exhibit About Nothing. With Festivus playing in the background, the Eastmen Collective-curated event showed off art by Sue Tsai (who Wale helped bring international exposure to in 2013 with his “Bad” single artwork,) Naturel, JBF Customs, Jay West and more. It will run until January 5 if you want to check it out – the Lyons Weir Gallery in the Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan.
Check out a few pics from The Exhibit About Nothing in the gallery, and a video recap below. Wale’s The Album About Nothing drops March 31.
