Last week, rapper Jadakiss popped up at Jersey City‘s York Street Project shelter for homeless women and children at their first annual holiday party and toy drive, and surprised 50 women and their families – much to their delight.
“Whenever you are able to be a part of giving back to anybody less fortunate, or whenever you are able to give back during this time of year, it’s a beautiful thing,” Jadakiss said. “I’m fortunate to be a part of this, it’s a no-brainer. When you can bring a smile to a baby’s face or a toddler or a single mother, or just somebody in need, that’s always a beautiful thing.”
Kiss teamed up with McDonald’s of Grand Street in Jersey City, which held a toy drive in preparation for the holiday party, receiving nearly 3,000 toys. Each of the 50 children who live at York Street were able to choose a few toys of their own, while the remainders were donated to Toys for Tots. More pics from the day in the gallery!
