SHOTS FIRED! During a recent interview, 50 Cent decided to voice his opinion on Jay-Z being a boxing promoter, just days after the first boxing card was revealed by Roc Nation Sports. Apparently, 50 doesn’t feel too fond of the rapper turned businessman…further details on this story and 50 Cent’s comments following the jump!
50 goes on to basically say that the boxing business is unlike any arena Hov is used to dealing with, stating “the sport of boxing is going to clean him up…”
“I think they gonna clean Jay up,” 50 Cent told BET.com. “The sport of boxing is going to clean him up and he’s going to find out it’s not like any other portion of business that he’s been involved in.”
“You can’t just buy your way into it by purchasing existing companies and stuff like that,” he snarled. “You look at the roster of fighters…you have to have experienced people around to run it. But boxing is like the fur coat business…we don’t know how much they actually sold the jacket for.”
Is 50 Cent making valid points or could he be throwing shade as Jay-Z is a rival in yet another field, as he has ventured in boxing promotion as well?
50 Cent thinks Jay Z has started off on the wrong foot. Jay Z and his Roc Nation Boxing promotion came in with the idea that they can outbid established promotions for marquee fights, as expected it’s rubbed many the wrong way.
50 Cent can’t be happy to see another entertainer try and encroach upon his boxing money, but he has some great points.
