Amir Khan faces Devon Alexander at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday night in what is expected to be a tight bout—and he’ll be doing so in 24-carat gold shorts worth around £30,000 ($47,000).
The Briton’s gear is described by the Daily Mail as:
“Garishly in keeping with the Las Vegas Strip. Genuine 24 carat gold thread woven through a waist band supporting white nappa leather trunks with crocodile trim. Estimated cost—take a deep breath—between £20,000 and £30,000.”
The sentiment will be touching and homely, with Khan saying: “I want our baby to be able to say one day that her father was a great champion.”
Khan is hoping for a career-defining fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2015.
