I feel like I’ve written this story before… oh yea I have.  Apparently Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch considering retirement from the NFL yet again.

Although Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch continues to be one of the top running backs in the NFL eight seasons into his career, he might consider retiring following the 2014 season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Sources with direct knowledge of Lynch’s thinking said the 28-year-old running back and former 2007 first-round pick is weighing the possibility of retiring after this season. It apparently isn’t the first time Lynch has considered retirement. Sources added Lynch confided in two teammates last season he might retire if the Seahawks won the Super Bowl, which they did. However, Lynch returned this season after holding out at the start of training camp. Lynch did receive an increase in pay to $5.6 million this season.

One issue for Lynch is regarding his health, as he has battled back pain over the last four seasons. The cartilage in his spinal cord is compressed, which brings him discomfort, according to the report.

Several sources have previously indicated the Seahawks are expected to part ways with Lynch after the season due to a combination of reasons, including salary and age. If Lynch continues to play football, then the future of Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable could have an impact on Lynch’s decision. If Cable lands a head-coaching job, then Lynch might consider following Cable to wherever he signs because the two have a good relationship.

One extra positive note for Lynch is, he’ll never have to speak to the media if he doesn’t want to ever again…
