If you make less than $75,000 a year, this story may sting a little bit. Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson decided to treat himself and picked up a monster chain from one of L.A.’s top jewelers.
According to TMZ Sports, Jackson decided to splurge on a tricked out chain.
How monster you ask? 2,200 diamonds, 22 inches and a HALF KILO of gold.
The Dr. Frankenstein behind the bling is Ofer, CEO of NuO jewelry in L.A. He tells the site, DeSean wanted a Cuban link chain which was very popular back in the days but is now back in style thanks to stars like Jay Z, Usher and numerous other artists have been seen wearing them.
He ordered one in pure gold, but when he got it back Jackson decided it wasn’t quite swaggy enough so he put in another work order with Ofer that involved more ice than the North Pole.
Ofer says Desean’s customizations pushed the value of the chain to $75,000. Easily one of his most expensive pieces ever. Obviously we know that music artists and athletes often drop stacks on jewelry, so that’s nothing new. But Jackson’s piece is pretty dope.
