Joe Lenti learned how to ask for wine the hard way when he ended up paying $3,750 for a bottle of wine. Lenti claims he simply asked for a recommendation.
Joe Lenti had to reach deep into his pocket after a misunderstanding at “Bobby Flay Steak” restaurant in Atlantic City.Lenti was on a business dinner when he asked a waitress for a wine recommendation claiming he wasn’t very familiar with wine. The waitress reeccomended a bottle of 2011 screaming eagle. Lenti said he asked for the price and the waitress kindly replied 37 50. Little did Lenti know that the price was $3,750 and not $37.50. Executive Vice President of the establishment Joesph Lupo stated ” As the leading culinary destination in this region we consistantly serve as many if not high ended wine and spirits without incident”. After the dinner party had complained when the check arrived the restaurant dropped the price to a “kind” $2,200. Just wasn’t Lenti’s day, You can be assured next time he steps into a restaurant he will examine every inch of the menu.
