There was a report a couple of weeks ago about tension between quarterback Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. That coupled with the Patriots 41-14 blowout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs launched a ton of rumors about what would happen with the team. Both sides later denied the reports and followed up with a 43-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals the following week. While that did help kill the rumors for the most part, another report says Tom Brady is still out the door and not because he wants to.
According to Kirk Minihane, who spoke to CSN New England, the Patriots are going to explore trading Tom Brady.
“The trade will happen at some point,” says Tanguay. “[Belichick] always trades a guy a year too early. Why would that change with a quarterback?”
“I don’t think there’s any general manager in the world… that could get two first round picks for him,” says Minihane. “You’re going to trade two first round picks for a 38-year-old quarterback?”…
…“They’re going to at least explore trading Brady in this offseason. I’m convinced of that.”
Brady is still playing at a high level and this report just doesn’t seem right to me but who knows.
