MTV announced this morning that “MTV Artist to Watch” nomineee, Sam Smith, will be performing at Sundays (August 24) MTVs Video Music Awards.
The “Stay With Me” singer was the final performer announced on Tuesday by the network, who will be holding the VMAs at the renovated venue “The Forum” in Inglewood, California.
Smith will be making his U.S. award show performance debut amongst a list of heavy-hitter VMA performers that includes Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Rita Ora, Iggy Azalea, Maroon 5, Usher, Ariana Grande and 5 Seconds of Summer.
Smith is nominated for “Best Male Music Video,” against Pharrell Williams’ “Happy,” John Legend’s “All of Me,” Ed Sheeran’s “Sing,” and Eminem and Rihanna’s “Monster” duet.
And his fellow “MTV Artist To Watch” nominee’s include 5 Seconds of Summer’s “She Looks So Perfect, ” Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap,” Schoolboy Q’s “Man of the Year” and Fifth Harmony’s “Miss Movin On.”
