A second family in Petersburg ,VA has come forward sharing a dramatic video with Onyourside investigators. JaQuan Fisher,17 was standing on his front porch when police started arresting a group of people busted in the house next door. His cousin, one of the suspects being arrested yelled out “record this!”, and the video that follows shows some serious abuse of authority. A police officer is heard saying “Unless you want me to take your phone away from you, put it away” a struggle follows before the screen goes black. Fortunately Fisher’s sister was able to record what happened next.

Debra Fisher, mother of JaQuan Fisher had this to say about the incident:
“They was trying to grab my son off the porch. I was trying to tell my boyfriend to open the door so we can get in the house.”
A second officer arrived during the struggle with an object in his hand. The family says he started spraying mace.
“They maced each other, too. He just started mace-ing everywhere,” A third officer came rushing in and put Debra into a choke hold, almost pulling her backward off of the porch! The family’s issue isn’t really with the fight but with the fact that they were bothered by police for recording to begin with. “We have a right to do what we want to do with our phone sitting on your porch. Sitting on my porch.” This is not the first time something like this has happened in Petersburg ,VA. A couple of month ago Devin Thomas was recording an arrest on the street when police told him “Get inside now. Inside. You can record all you want.” Incidents like these cause the public to lose trust in law enforcement. The choke hold is also being questioned since police are taught to use the least amount of force possible. Debra Fisher says she’s looking for an attorney and may appeal her conviction. Also she says she did not file a formal complaint with Petersburg Police because she no longer trusts the police department.
