Andre Johnson has quietly been one of the best receivers in the NFL for a decade now and he is just tired of losing. Most players, especially in his position would of made a stink years ago about being stuck on a bad team and not getting a legit chance to win even though they are one of the best players in the league at the wide receiver spot. Not Johnson though, that’s not his style. He is humble, classy and polite, but eventually it wears on you no matter who you are. Reports are saying that Johnson wants the Texans to trade him before this season starts and he is already holding out. Most players get a bad rep for holding out, but Johnson is different. Hit the jump.

It’s not difficult to understand why Johnson would want to leave. He wants to play for a contender, and considering the Texans are going back in for another rebuild, Johnson doesn’t want to be part of yet another massive undertaking to get the team back into playoff form.

That’s why he reportedly wants to be traded, according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, and four teams apparently are interested. The Texans, though, reportedly aren’t ready to make a swap.

Johnson was asked would be be playing week one for the Texans and he replied “I don’t know. I can’t answer that question”. Johnson has paid his dues on for the most part a bad franchise for about a decade now. Sure they have gone to the playoffs a couple times recently, but this past year they were supposed to be legit super bowl contender and wound up finishing 2-14. He has fully earned the right to demand a trade and to have a real chance to play deep into the playoffs for the first time in his hall of fame career.

The four teams interested were not announced but the Texans owe this guy a real chance to win as they look forward to a major re-building season coming up with again no real chance to win.
