Does anyone really care about the Pro Bowl? Is it a big deal that it won’t be in Hawaii this upcoming season?! I’m only a fan of it because I’m just happy at that point to have an extra week of football, but it’s definitely not what it used to be. Anywayyyysss — The NFL announced today that the Pro Bowl will be played in Arizona and return to Hawaii in 2016. Hit the jump for details…
Via CBS:
The 2015 Pro Bowl will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona, home of the Cardinals — the same site as Super Bowl XLIX — and broadcast live on ESPN at 8 p.m. ET.
It’s a pretty logical move, frankly, with Super Bowl XLIX being held in Arizona in February of 2015. While Phoenix isn’t Honolulu, it is a nice enough place for a vacation and it allows Pro Bowl players to minimize travel plans around the Super Bowl.
However, the Pro Bowl will return to Hawaii after the 2015 season. With Super Bowl L — the 50th Super Bowl — set to be played in the 49ers new stadium, the Pro Bowl will take place on Sunday, January 31, 2016 in Aloha Stadium in Hawaii.
