Though the Houston Texans may have fixed their quarterback issues in using Case Keenum, they might have another huge problem on their hands. Star running back Arian Foster has missed a couple games and could be out for the rest of the season should he require surgery.
Texans running back Arian Foster has a problem with a disk in his back and is visiting specialists to see if he can get treatment and avoid season-ending surgery.
A person close to Foster said Friday the running back is determined to return this season after missing almost all of the last two games with hamstring and back injuries, but that might not be possible because of the injury to his disk.
interim coach Wade Phillips said after practice Friday that Foster, 27, has seen “two or three” back specialists.
Foster was on a hot streak before he left the 17-16 loss Oct. 20 at Kansas City in the first quarter with a pulled hamstring. He had averaged 113 yards per game in three consecutive losses to Seattle, San Francisco and St. Louis. He was second in the NFL in rushing when he was injured against the Chiefs.
