The Jets will seek a second opinion on Sanchez’s shoulder this week from renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews, according to the source. Andrews has made headlines most recently for his work with Robert Griffin III.

Sanchez, who suffered the injury last month in the Jets’ preseason game against the New York Giants, is inactive for Sunday’s season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Rookie Geno Smith started at quarterback.
