Crazy. Researchers from The University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business are now saying that savers are viewed as more attractive than spenders when it comes to dating. What’s funny is the title of the study: A Penny Saved is A Partner Earned. The focal point of the study is that “saving behavior may be diagnostic of broad self-control.” Hit the jump for more info.

Aside from materialistic purchases, the idea that one would save for a “want” or “need” makes them a much more sought after candidate in the dating world. Those actions plead the case for self control and commitment. The commitment to save for an inanimate want seems parallel to relationships. Also, the self control would continue to not impulsively saying hurtful things or cheating on a romantic partner.

So… does this mean no more side eye when the date consists of Mickey D’s and a movie?
