In Miami, Florida, while tagging a vacant McDonald’s, police began pursuing 18-year-old Israel Hernandez-Llach. After a separating from the responding officers, back-up caught him and a little later, he died while in custody. Hit the jump for the full story.
Once he noticed the police, Hernandez –better known as “Reefa”– took off on foot. While he was able to dodge the first set of officers, back-up caught up to him. In order to arrest him, he was hit by a TASER. Once in custody, he began to “display medical signs of duress” as per the police report. Some believe that the actions of the arresting officers played a major part in his death, some friends even told reporters how the cops bragged about the ordeal. However, despite the speculation surrounding his death, until the autopsy and toxicology reports return, the current cause of death has yet to be determined.
