Floyd Mayweather has so many huge fans on the east coast that would love a chance to see him fight in person without the attachment of a plane ticket and hotel in Vegas. Well we might get that chance in the near future. Obviously Mayweather is fighting this September in Vegas against Canelo Alvarez. But if the owners of the Barclays Center get their way, his next fight could possibly be in Brooklyn!! Hit the jump to see more.

Last weekend when Adrien Broner took on Paulie Malignaggi at the Barclays Center, Floyd was on hand to see the fight. According to reports, he was sitting ringside with Barclays Center & Nets CEO Brett Yormark and Bruce Ratner. Reportedly at some point they discussed Floyd fighting there himself and he seemed to have sincere interest in the idea. There is one huge difference however between fighting in New York instead of Vegas. TAXES!! New York is not tax friendly to entertainers and athletes taking huge chunks of their money in taxes. Vegas does not have that problem. If they can figure out either a way to get around the taxes or come up with a different method for Floyd to get paid what he is used to the fight could really happen. Barclays is much bigger than arenas in Las Vegas, so there could be much more tickets for sale. Any boxing fan withing a reasonable driving distance would be trying to score tickets to the fight to spend a night in Brooklyn. Hopefully this will happen.
