A bug has been in FaceBook’s friend recommendation system that essentially exposed the contact information of over six MILLION Facebook users to other people!! Hit the jump to find out more..
We’ve all been on Facebook and been asked if we want to upload our email address so we can connect with more people we know but I bet you didn’t think that this information was being stored and released to other people. The information would be shared if you went to download an archive through the Download Your Information (DYI) tool. In essence this means that your information (email addresses and phone numbers) was shared with others using the same DYI tool. Since the bug has been found Facebook has since disabled this feature but that still doesn’t change the fact that over 6 million Facebook users personal contact info has already been exposed!! Let’s just say I’m glad I no longer use Facebook.
