Ah man, the Los Angeles Clippers are probably biting their fingernails down to the bone right now with nervousness. That’s what happens when you piss off your star player, who just happens to be a free agent and can leave and go to a new team. Reports are Chris Paul is very angry with the entire Clippers organization, so angry in fact that he could be willing to leave Hollywood and the beautiful weather behind just on principle. So what happened? Read more after the jump.

You don’t want to make Chris Paul angry..you won’t like him when he is angry! The Clippers are finding that out right now! Reports are Chris is furious with the team for reports leaking that he personally was responsible for coach Vinny Del Negro getting fired. A source very close to him told ESPN’s Chris Broussard the following:

“He’s angry right now and his anger is directed toward the Clippers organization,” the source said. “Chris is a man of principle and if he feels like you’ve gone against his principles, it will affect how he feels about you. He’s very agitated that his name has been put out there as the reason for Vinny’s firing. He had nothing to do with it.”

The Clips can pay him $28 million dollars more than any other team can, but the bad feelings are so strong on his part that he may very well chose to play for less somewhere else because of his anger towards them making him the scapegoat. There were rumors all season that Chris and Blake Griffin didn’t really get along because Chris was trying to push him too much. Clippers owner Donald Sterling might of made it even worse with his comments regarding Del Negro being fired. When he was asked if the Clippers fired the coach just to make Chris Paul happy and to make sure he comes back he said, “I always want to be honest and not say anything that is not true. So I’d rather not say anything. But you know, the coach did a really good job. I think he did. And I liked working with him. There are just factors that make life very complicated and very challenging.” “This is a players’ league, and, unfortunately, if you want to win, you have to make the players happy.”

This is very bad news for the Clips, as they were becoming one of the more relevant teams in the NBA after decades of being a joke. Obviously he can still wind up staying, but if he decides to leave the Clippers won’t even be a playoff team and could very well wind up being where they always used to be.
