I’ve never been a big Vince Young fan, but I do love a good comeback story. I can’t wait to see how this unfolds. Vince Young is determined to try to make teams notice him again and it started yesterday at Texas’ pro day. In front of 30 NFL teams and more than 50 scouts, Vince Young took the first public step in his pro comeback with a good showing.

Young threw around 50 passes to former UT receivers John Chiles and DeSean Hales, as well as Marquise Goodwin and the rest of Texas’ draft-eligible receivers and tight ends.
The former Longhorns star did not weigh in, run a 40-yard dash or participate in any other drills. As he made his way through a mob of reporters while leaving Texas’ indoor practice facility, Young declined any interviews, saying only that he had a good day.
“I think he did extremely well,” agent Jerry Marlatt said. “He showed his footwork and mechanics, and overall it was a very good day. He thought it went well. We received positive feedback from multiple teams.”
Young appeared to be in good physical shape and showed that the arm that helped make him the No. 3 overall pick in 2006 by the Tennessee Titans hasn’t lost much strength.
“He whips that ball out of there like a cannon,” Goodwin said. “He has a great arm. He did really well today and he helped us make some money. I commend him and thank him for coming out. He came out and I think he helped himself as well.”
Young, 29, went unsigned for the entire 2012 season after one season with the Philadelphia Eagles and is trying to find his way back onto an NFL roster.
After taking in his performance, Texas coach Mack Brown has no doubt that day is coming soon.
“He’s better than a whole lot of people playing out there, and those guys can see it here today,” Brown said. “I don’t think there is any question. With mobile quarterbacks and what they are doing in the NFL, running options and zone reads, he’ll be perfect.
“Someone is going to get lucky. Someone is going to hit the lottery with this one.”

Vince Young was ‘magnificent’ during his Pro Day workout at the University of Texas, as the former No. 3 overall pick continued his comeback attempt.
Young “put on a show” according to NFL.com’s Gil Brandt, which will certainly help him in his quest to return to the NFL:
Brandt was more effusive in his praise, saying Young “put on a show” and was “magnificent” passing the ball in the pocket and on the run. Brandt touted Young’s accuracy; a few of Young’s long tosses to Texas receiver Marquise Goodwin drew “oohs” and “aahs” from the crowd.
