Lenox Lounge, the iconic 63-year-old jazz club in Harlem, has officially closed its doors as of this past Monday. The landlord of the spot had doubled the rent, and current owner Alvin Reed just couldn’t do it. It will be reopening this Spring, however, it will be under a different name and different management…so it’s basically a totally new place. Nobu owner Richie Notar will open the doors to Notar Jazz Club this March, as he wasn’t allowed to use the original name. So sad to see such a piece of history go!
