“A lot of people thought I was gay,” Silva told Brazilian media outlet Tatame (via Fighters Only).

Silva, like boxing great Mike Tyson, has an unusually high-pitched voice. He also thought it was normal to allow his sister to dress him up in girls’ clothes and he played with dolls until age 14.

“We would wear a dress, put on her shoes,” Silva said. “And because I am very vain about my appearance, and have a high voice, a lot of people were sure I was gay.”

Silva has been married to his wife, Dayane, for 15 years and the couple has five children.

The 37-year-old has had an unprecedented run in the UFC, where he is undefeated. He has not lost a fight since 2006 and his consecutive wins (15) and title defenses (10) are both UFC records. Silva, known for his spellbinding Muay Thai kickboxing skills, has been middleweight champion since 2006 and rarely even challenged.

Evidently you can add being incredibly candid to his list of attributes.
