Over the weekend, the son of Usher’s estranged wife Tameka Foster was hanging with friends and family at a lake in Georgia when tragedy struck. He was in a tube in the water when a family friend ran over him with a jet ski, and he has since been pronounced brain dead. Now the family friend, a man by the name of Jeffrey Hubbard, is under investigation. Details below.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Sgt. Mike Burgamy with the Georgia Department of Resources said:
“Basically, a pontoon was pulling two juveniles on an inner tube, and the watercraft ran over the top of them.”
He said two of his rangers witnessed the situation, in which an unidentified 15-year-old girl was also injured, referring to it as a tragic accident.
Alcohol was not a factor in the jet ski accident and investigators do not believe it was a mechanical malfunction.
Sgt. Burgamy continued, saying:
“One minute the Jet Ski was running around, the next he ran over the top of them. It happened that quickly…It appears the watercraft did strike both juveniles, with the male taking the brunt of the force.”
Kile was wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident. Tamika Foster and Usher have received overwhelming support from their celebrity peers.
As the investigation is ongoing and many factors are still to be determined, Burgamy stated:
“It depends on the male’s condition. With certain things we have to wait and see…Once we gather all our info, we’ll talk to the District Attorney and discuss it with them to decide what action to take.”
