A young student had a little too much to drink and stumbled into a stranger’s home inColorado. The young woman was then shot in the hip by the homeowners after they told her not to walk in any further! Guess who’s getting charged???
A 21-year-old will be charged with trespassing after drunkenly stumbling into a stranger’s home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Zoey Ripple, a University of Colorado graduate, was shot in the hip by homeowners Timothy Justice and Doreen Orion after entering the room they were sleeping in at around 3.30am.
The bedroom was dark and the couple shouted out to warn their unknown intruder that they had a gun.
But Ripple continued walking through the room so Justice pulled the trigger.
When they turned on the lights they saw the injured girl on the floor and called 911.
‘She walked into our bedroom and…we were screaming at her…but she kept coming in the bedroom and…we shot her,’ Doreen Orion told a police dispatcher.
‘She’s in the house now. She awake. She’s fine, but she’s shot.’
Ripple was taken from the Boulder Community, Colorado home to an unidentified hospital and will face charges of first-degree criminal trespass of a dwelling on Friday.
