Well that didn’t take long, a developer going by the name of Chainfire has rooted the Samsung Galaxy SIII ahead of its launch date without having the actual phone in hand.
Chainfire actually took advantage of the leaked software that hit the net a few months ago, and from there Chainfire did some virtual rooting (never know that was even possible). It hasn’t been confirmed if  the root will work, well not until the actual root is done on the SIII.
Since its announcement Samsung has not made any adjustments to its kernel, so the root access should be the same. The whole process required only reloading the kernel with an altered adb binary and then manually installing SuperUser.
Chainfire is trying to make the build go public in time of the SIII release, in hopes that Samsung song doesn’t change anything to make things a little difficult for developers.
