An Atlanta shopkeeper is facing 25-years in prison after he shot a cop whom he mistook for a group of robbers that were chasing him. Hit the jump for this story.
Atibi Thomas, 31, was fleeing from a group of gang members that were robbing his store when gun fire erupted. This prompted Keith Roach, a Police Officer, to run towards the scene. Thomas believed Roach to be one of the robbers he just exchanged gun fire with. Thomas opened fire on the uniformed officer striking him 3 times. Luckily, Roach was wearing his bullet proof vest.
