Reactor Pool’s are the containment area that holds the water which circulates through out the nuclear reactor. Hit the jump for this crazy story.
One employee at the San Onofre nuclear power plant in California is quite lucky today. After leaning to recover a flashlight, an unnamed employee fell over the railing into the 20 ft deep reactor pool. According to a plant spokes man, the man received 5 millirems of radiation. The average chest x-ray exposes you to 4 millirems. Thankfully, the man had on the proper safety equipment and was able to return to work the same day after extensive medical workups.
