This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, knowing how strict BET is with their censorship. If you’ve seen Nicki’s video for her current single Stupid Hoe, you know it’s pretty crazy and all the editing to make it ok for BET’s standards wouldn’t leave much of the video left at all! Nicki herself knew, and that’s why she chose to debut on VEVO as opposed to a network. “Can’t premiere on a network b/c its important that my art is not tampered with, or compromised prior to you viewing it for the 1st time,†she had tweeted prior to its release. She actually ended up breaking a VEVO record with the most views in a 24 hour period! A rep for BET wouldn’t explain why but simply said they wouldn’t be airing it, but sources said it’s because of its explicitness. Oh well!
