Maryeve Dufault’s entrance into Saturday’s Nationwide Series Napa Auto Parts 200 at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is going to upstage the NASCAR’s Pure Michigan 400 this weekend.
Normally the Nationwide is tucked deep into the back seat of the NASCAR weekend by the Sprint Series event. But normally former Price is Right models aren’t making their NASCAR debut in the Nationwide event.
This is not just a publicity stunt either. The 29-year-old Dufault is serious about racing.
Yahoo! Sports reported that Dufault said she used money saved from modeling to pay for tires and equipment to kick start her racing career. Along with her duties on the Price is Right, eleven years ago she was crowned Miss Hawaiian Tropic. For that honor she earned a six-figure cash award and two prizes that no doubt fueled her need for speed: a motorcycle and Jet Ski.
