On June 25, 1996 Jay-Z released his first album entitled “Reasonable Doubt” on Roc-a-Fella records. “Reasonable Doubt” features tracks with Memphis Bleek, Mary J. Blige, and the late Notorious BIG. The album peaked at only #23 on the Billboard charts and did not make platinum status until 2002 making it Jay-Z’s worst selling album to date. Although “Reasonable Doubt” did not sell as many units as Jay’s future albums, it is now recognized by many as one of hip hop’s most classic albums. “Reasonable Doubt” is listed as number 248 out of 500 on Rolling Stone‘s “Greatest Albums Of All Time”, included in Blender‘s 500 CDs You Must Own Before You Die, and The Source‘s 100 Best Rap Albums. Check out the first single “Dead Presidents” from the album after the jump.
