The NZ Herald reports the depth of this most recent quake was just 11 kilometers and it reportedly felt as strong as February’s quake. There are early reportsof downed phone lines and power outages.

According to the USGS, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.2, not 5.5 as initially reported by The NZ Herald.
