Google is joining YouTube with the early April Fools Day jokes. The company created a treasure map on Google Maps and wants users to help them find the long lost treasure of William Captain Kidd.

YouTube published a video today that thanked everyone over the past 8 years for submitting videos for their contest to find the best video in the world. They will be shutting down April 1st until their 30,000 techs find a winner which will be found by the year 2023.

YouTube announced this week that it has more than a billion unique users every single month. The site has been around for eight years and nearly one out of every two people on the Internet goes to YouTube. Its monthly viewership is the equivalent to about ten Super Bowl audiences. If YouTube were a country, it would be the third largest in the world after China and India.
New YouTube One channel layout now available to everyone
It was announced last month that Youtube would roll out One Channel design to a limited number of parter channels. And today the channel layout is currently available to everyone.
