YG Announces ‘FDT Tour’ With RJ, Kamaiyah & SadBoy

YG just wrapped up a trek as a supporting act for G-Eazy and Logic on The Endless Summer tour, and he’s already gearing up to hit the road once again. This time, however, he’ll be the main attraction. The Still Brazy rapper has announced the FDT Tour, named after his sophomore album’s controversial anthem, “F*ck Donald Trump.” Keeping true to his West Coast roots, YG has added RJ, Sadboy and Kamaiyah as the opening acts – the ladder of whom is featured on his current single, “Why You Always Hatin?” Check out the list of dates below. Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 19, at 10am EST.

DJ Quik Explains Why He Went Off On YG Over “My Hitta”

Last week, DJ Quik hopped on Twitter to call out YG, revealing plans to sue him over un-credited engineering on his 2013 hit, “My Hitta.” It was rather odd timing, as the song has been out for nearly three years, but he’s released a rather lengthy statement to Billboard about the matter…though he still sounds a little weird for waiting this long. Basically, Quik was called in to help mix the record after the ProTools illegally popped up on YouTube, and made it much more cleaned up and easier for other people to mix or remix it. In the end, YG didn’t like Quik’s final mix so they had another person mix it after, but Quik’s initial work on it made that able to be done. From what I understand (it was a LONG read, LOL), Quik was made for his services – though not his usual fee – but he was never credited on the song, and that’s what the beef was. Is it worth calling out YG though, when he doesn’t design the album credits or really make those calls? That’s the A&R.. Check out the statement below and let us know if you think Quik was justified!

For whatever reason, DJ Quik decided to come at YG today over his 2013 hit, “My N*gga.” Per Quik’s tweets, he was employed by YG to record the song, and was never credited on the song (which I’m assuming means they weren’t paid either?) Now he wants his credit…and his platinum plaque.

DJ Quik Calls Out YG For Not Giving Him Credit For “My N***a”

DJ Quik came for YG in the early hours today, claiming he’s not received proper credit for his work on YG’s platinum record “My N***a” after engineering and recording the song. But why wait til now?
