After recently showing off his precious baby North on grandMOMager’s show, Kris, Kanye hit the 2013 VMAs stage to perform “Blood on the Leaves.” As always, Kanye did NOT disappoint. Earlier today, Kanye explained why he used a rather interesting backdrop for his performance that consisted of a “lynching tree.” Hit the jump to peep Yeezy’s performance along with his explanation of the backdrop.

“Black Skinhead” was the first single off Kanye West’s latest effort Yeezus, but it hasn’t really done as well as some of his other singles in the past have done. Whoa, Kanye West Makes A Pretty Bold Claim! Do You Agree With Him?

In between being a new father and beating down paparazzi, Kanye West found some time this weekend to take to his rarely-used Twitter page for an announcement. The outspoken rapper opened up the floor for debate, declaring the second verse on his Yeezus-cut “New Slaves” the best rap verse of all time in the history of rap music. That’s quite a bold claim, no? Read the lyrics below and decide for yourself. Do you think perhaps he was just trying to be funny by making reference to his incident with the paparazzi, as he raps in the verse, “So go and grab the reporters, so I can smash their recorders.” Hmm! You never know with the twisted mind of Mr. West!
