(Video) Ab-Soul Isn’t The Only Black Hippy That’s Pissed About The XXL Cover!

“You wanna be startin’ somethin’…” (Michael J.’ voice). XXL recently placed Black Hippy on the cover of their Oct/Nov issue with a headline, “Kendrick Lamar & Black Hippy.” Ab-Soul immediately took to twitter and announced his aggravation of the separation. Now, ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock has a few words themselves, about the incident. “That’s so disrespectful, so disrespectful,” said Q. “We didn’t go into that shoot saying, ‘This is Kendrick with Black Hippy photo shoot for the cover.’ We went in there and said, ‘This is a Black Hippy shoot,’ so we expect a Black Hippy shoot.” Q does understand how far Kendrick has come as an individual, but Black Hippy is a group and he wants people to remember that. Jay Rock doesn’t seem to be tee’d off like the rest, but he voices his opinions. Hit the jump and check it out.

(Photo) TDE Covers The October/November Issue OF XXL!

These dudes are dope, and with a smashing performance last night on TDE’s part, XXL took the right moment to announce that hip-hop’s hottest talent right now (minus the new signee), covers their October/November issue. On October 29th, when the mag hits stands, it’ll be filled with the Black Hippy’s success, each individual artist’s skill – maybe a new project mention – the 10th anniversary of OutKast’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below album, Big Sean’s Hall of Fame and much more. Until then…down bottom for the cover.

Drake Covers XXL’s 16th Anniversary Issue

Drake seems to be a part of every headline this week, in a great way. First, there was OVO Fest, where he just brought out just about everyone. Then, the new single for Nothing Was the Same. Now, news break that he is covering XXL’s 150th issue. And, “Watch the Throne” under his name? People at XXL could not have planned it better, thanks to Kanye’s words. Not to mention, Drake named Kanye as his competition in the cover story; “It’s tough for me. That’s a guy I can’t pretend not to like. He’s the guy to me, in a lot of ways. That’s Kanye West. But I’m also here to be the best. I’m here to surpass. I’m here to outdo. I’m ready for whatever with anybody.”

T.I. Imagined He’d Be Dead Or In Jail, Not Rich & Successful

Tip recently sat down with XXL for an interview where he admitted that he never pictured his life turning out positive. According to him, he always figured he would be either 6 feet under, locked behind bars, or still slingin’ crack. Luckily for T.I., that is FAR from how the family man’s life resulted in.
